The 4-Hour Work Week, by Tim Ferris is probably one of the best self-improvement books I have ever read.
This book emphasizes how lowering work time and increasing “you time” is worth more than money. People don’t want millions of dollars because they want millions of dollars. They want a ton of money because they want freedom. They want the freedom to buy anything they want, travel wherever they want, and do whatever they want.
Tim Ferris brilliantly explains tactics and rules to becoming a member of the “new rich.”
For example: using remote software to connect your home computer to your work computer. This opens the door to working from home instead of an office and unless you love sitting in a cubicle to do work, then working from home sounds like heaven.
The 4-Hour Work Week also encourages the use of automated cash flow through things like affiliate marketing and dropshipping. Amazon and ClickBank are great sites to use to get started.
Lastly, Tim Ferris introduces the new concept of mini-retirement. Instead of waiting until old age to enjoy the life retirement, start rewarding yourself with mini-retirements of 3-6 months. Tim takes a mini-retirement every 6 months of constant work.
If you are currently working a 9 to 5 job and cannot seem to find any time to do the things you enjoy in life, then this is the book for you.
